Travel trivia: Colourful Italian geography

Posted on February 5th, 2011 by Laura Byrne Paquet in Travel Trivia

What reddish-purple color shares its name with an Italian town, where a bloody battle took place in 1859?

  • Magenta
  • Mauve
  • Purple
  • Violet

Think you know the answer? Send it to me as a comment at the bottom of this post (one answer per contestant, please!). At the end of the week, I’ll draw one name from among all the people who answered correctly, and that person will receive this week’s prize: a mini-speaker to amplify your MP3 player when you’re on the road. (It’s really tiny–the stapler in the background gives you a sense of scale.)

Come back to Facing the Street tomorrow for another travel trivia question and another chance to win the mini-speaker! And if you can’t wait until then for your trivia fix, check out my husband Paul’s trivia site, (He provided this question, BTW.)

This contest closes at 5:00pm EST on Friday, February 11, 2011.

Disclosure and information on prize donor: The mini speaker was provided by the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, a 513-room, 12-suite property in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
