    From the list, I would say Tanzania.

    But The People’s Republic of China is bigger!

      Ooh, tricky political question! Depends how you define the territory of what is popularly known as Taiwan. If you include all of mainland China, then wow, yes, it would be far bigger than anything on this list! But if you include just the island of Taiwan and some smaller outlying islands, the answer I’m looking for is still larger in area. One other thorny question: would the larger country be called “Taiwan,” and thus qualify as a “country starting with the letter T,” or would it be called some variation of “China”? Ah, the thorny intersection of trivia and international politics…:-) Thanks for the food for thought, Caitlin!
