Travel trivia: Stop snickering, kids

Lake Titicaca boats

It’s every 10-year-old’s favourite geography question! The Desaguadero River flows from Lake Titicaca to Lake Poopo. On what continent?

  • Africa
  • Asia
  • Europe
  • South America

Think you know the answer? Send it to me as a comment at the bottom of this post (one answer per contestant, please!). At the end of the week, I’ll draw one name from among all the people who answered correctly, and that person will receive this week’s prize: a 17cm x 12cm (7″ x 4.5″) notebook and pen from Parks Canada.

Come back to Facing the Street tomorrow for another travel trivia question and another chance to win the notebook. And if you can’t wait until then for your trivia fix, check out my husband Paul’s trivia site, TriviaHallOfFame.com. (He provided this question, BTW.)

This contest closes at 5:00pm EST on Friday, January 28, 2011.

Photo: Can Stock Photo, File ID 2544356.

Disclosure and information on prize donor: The notebook was provided by Parks Canada, the federal agency that runs Canada’s national parks. This year marks the 125th anniversary of Canada’s national parks.
