Travel trivia: Where do they speak Romansch?

Posted on January 2nd, 2011 by Laura Byrne Paquet in Travel Trivia

Romansch is one of the four official languages of what European country?

  • Belgium
  • France
  • Romania
  • Switzerland

Think you know the answer? Send it to me as a comment at the bottom of this post. At the end of the week, I’ll draw one name from all the people who answered correctly, and that person will receive this week’s prize: the Putumayo Presents Yoga CD, with 14 great world music tracks to enhance your yoga practice.

Come back tomorrow for another travel trivia question and another chance to win the Putumayo Presents Yoga CD! And if you can’t wait til then for your trivia fix, check out my husband Paul’s trivia site, TriviaHallOfFame.com.

This contest closes at 5:00pm EST on Friday, January 7, 2011.

The photo above was taken in a Romansch-speaking area by Laura Byrne Paquet.

Disclosure: The CD was provided by Putumayo World Music.

Although on trains, public places you’ll see German, French, Italian and often English, not Romansh. Romansh is mostly spoken in the Graubunden region. Even my mother who’s Swiss has never known any Romansh speakers.
